Robin is a freelance photojournalist. He has become best known for his work on human rights and environmental issues. Originally from New Zealand, he has been commissioned to make photos in over 50 countries.

AWARDS AND COMENDATIONS

In February 2011 Robin was announced as a finalist in the Sony World Photography Awards for his work on Rape in the DRC. The winners will be announced in April.
Life magazine included one of Robin’s images in it’s Pictures of the year for 2010.
In June 2010, for a second year in a row, Robin won Amnesty International Media Awards. His story ‘Zimbabwe’s Bloody Diamonds’ and ‘Toxic Jeans’, an investigation into Gap and Levis in Lesotho, were awarded for outstanding human rights journalism in separate categories.
In 2009 his photo essay on Roma Gypsies in Italy won best story in a periodical category of the Amnesty International Media Awards.
Also in 2009, at the International Photography Awards, he was awarded two 1st places and two 2nd places. 3 of the awards were for his work in Zimbabwe and one for a story on climate change in the Pacific Island nation of Tuvalu.
That same year his work on climate change in Tuvalu won the AICA Special Prize for ‘Communicating the Kyoto Protocol’

PUBLICATIONS

Robin’s work regularly appears in international publications.
Various Non Governmental bodies have also used Robin’s pictures as campaigning material.
Robin’s work has been show cased around the world in exhibitions on various issues including climate change, human rights, democracy, war, famine and disease.
